Back from Holibobs

We have been back from holibobs for nearly two weeks now and it seems like it was such a long time ago. Especially as the weather here is rubbish!
Maybe we could go away again soon????????????????????????/

A hint of summer and then it goes

There we were Easter weekend, sitting in our new garden enjoying the sunshine. It lasted for another week or so and then bang it went. Since then we have had dull overcast days with a chilly wind and now over the last week we have had the April showers that should have been here a month ago.

There i was in those days of sun, baring my legs for the first time this year without tights and arms with out a cardigan near by in case its just not quite warm enough. Now i have had to dig my tights out and hope that a thin long sleeve top will be enough to stop me from getting cold.

What doesn't help is the shops are full of summer clothes, they suddenly went from stocking winter warmers to summer strapless dresses, flip flops and shorts. What about in between weather clothes which lets face it there is a lot of that weather going on.

Come on summer where are you?

I noticed recently (actually during the 6 nations and again at the weekend) that rugby teams tend to have a look!
No offense made to anyone of any country but.............
The English rugby team are for the most part made up of what you call typically English looking men(Lewis Moody, josh Lewsey, Jonny W)! The Irish team have a tendency for rosy cheeks (Ronan O'Gara, Horgan) and the Welsh team are made up of very curly haired front row and the backs who have hair gelled and preened into an inch of their life, smoother than smooth skin and if you Gavin Henson no hair on his legs and perma-tanned! They also all tend to run in a strange manner!

Can it be that coaches think not just about talent but about how they look when they pick a person for international duty! Or is it just the culture in each country is so that these men who play rugby end up looking a certain way and similar to all their team mates??

hmmmmmmmmm i wonder!

Ooohhhhh the excitement Colin Murry is going to be doing it this year! Edith won it two years ago i wonder if he thinks he can do it too!I haven't heard his singing ability but i have heard his djing ability so who knows!

My birthday trip to diggerland

After admitting to Ben a while back i would love to have a go on a JCB and move dirt around we went to diggerland for my birthday where i could do just that.I hunted for treasure with a digger and lifted ducks out of water with the digger, plus drove round a track in a dumper truck!!!

Wow, the dress that Audrey Hepburn wears in Breakfast at Tiffany's (the greatest film ever made and with the greatest female ever!) has been auctioned off for charity and went for a lot more that the predicted £70k in fact it went for £410k. I wish it was me who had the money to bid on that! I would have loved to have owned a piece of history!

an update on Christmas

firstly, i have completed all of my shopping bar one more part of Ben's pressie and a couple of stocking fillers for him! answer on a postcard please.........

secondly, just because its December does not mean Christmas decs can go up on tele and in people's houses, nor can music channels start programming their whole day full of top Christmas hits and bad Christmas song charts etc! I have already hear Feed the world 5 times since Friday! I is not amused!

Our Christmas tree will go up on the 16th December and come down just after New Year! and i will not be getting excited about Christmas songs until at least 12th December when panic sets in that i still haven't completed Ben's pressie!!!!

I love Christmas i just want to still be excited by it by the day itself rather than be bored of it before it even gets to say 20th December!

Well its official its freezing!!!! All of a sudden on the 1st of November the temperatures plummeted, even today when sunny it was still cold when i went out at lunch?????

Sorry but have got to say that I have this morning brought the first two christmas pressents!!! I cannot believe that on the 14th of October I bought christmas presents. Oh well at least two are done and its spread the cost. But it is rather depressing, next I'll be buying cards and writing them!

A little trip to Poole

Well we have just got back from a trip to Poole and if you look at Ben's blog you will get a good detailed account of our trip in particular the bars we went too.

The weather was a bit of shame but we still got to see the beach and have a portion of chips on the beach!

We were slightly over run by students in one bar but then found solace and a lot of amusement in another when we embarked upon some very funny games of pool-my tactics was to hit the ball which was going well especially when Ben potted the black by accident. After that it went downhill, i blame the alcohol!

Another injury for Jonny Wilkinson

Well a new season of Rugby has started and we all believed that Jonny was on the mend, no new injuries for a few months and he even managed to play a few games in a row at the end of last season. But on Friday night it happened again-he went down and didnt get up again i seem to get some serious deja vu when watching Jonny play.

This latest injury does throw up that old question "shouldnt he just give up". Well orgionally i thought no, but now i think yes. Its clear that no matter what he does, he says he has changed his kicking style etc to try and prevent injuries it still happens! so maybe his body just cant take it anymore. All those years of punishement to get him to the top have to me finally caught up with him.

So yes Jonny did do an amzing thing in Sydney and he should not be forgotten for that but maybe he should of hung up his boots after the first bout if injury and went out on that high. All this coming from me is something seeing as i am one of his biggest fans and have been since he first ran onto a rugby pitch in an England shirt.

Picnic in the Park on a wet day

Ben and I went to the park today in Maidstone, it was lovely even though it was very grey.We had a nice walk round then had our picnic. It started to rain though so we had to call it a day but i did get to the feed the ducks which i particularly enjoyed.
